Rabbit brush is a very prolific plant in Utah and I learned more about this plant after identification when I started researching medicinals. I figured there must have been a use for this plant and after doing some research I did find some resources that indicate this plant has been used as a medicinal plant to help coughs and colds. It has also been used as gum by some natives in the past as the roots and lower stems contain rubber. According to it was even looked at as a source for rubber during WWII.
It is a gray-green bush with yellow flowers that grows quite prevalent in the Utah desert. I have begun research on this plant since it is so prevalent and want to find out about it's uses. I have read in some resources that the leaves and seeds were used by the Navajo Tribe as food and that it also has some medicinal benefits. I will provide images as soon as I am able.
