This was a good class- we actually identified more than just Elderberry bushes. Mike gave me some berries to take home and I was able to make elderberry syrup with them. My only request would be to order better weather next time☺️

What a fantastic day in the autumn beauty of American Fork Canyon foraging for cold & flu fighting elderberries with Wild Utah Edibles! Mike Wood is not only a knowledgeable guide, but a mountain gourmet as well! We crafted some divinely delicious elderberry syrup next to the campfire in an outdoor kitchen while also identifying & learning about many other edible & medicinal plants in our native Utah mountains. Why spend a fortune on pharmaceuticals & essential oils when you can take a class with Mike & harvest health in your own back yard? The focus of the day may have been spotting elderberries, but we got so much more! Mike pointed out chokecherries, Oregon grape, smooth sumac, wild rosehips, sorrel, sweet clover, hounds tongue, & many more plants for eating & treating almost anything that ails you. We went home with our own jar of nature’s syrup made with raw honey, & an apron to help us make future foraged kitchen creations of our own. If you get the chance to learn from Mike, go for it & do something good for your gut! We can’t wait for our next class! Thanks Mike!

What a fantastic day in our beautiful Utah mountains with a great guide who truly knows his craft! Mike helped us spot and harvest elderberries, as well as many more edible and medicinal plants that do your body good. He also made an outdoor kitchen right on the spot so we could cook up some delicious elderberry syrup with healthy raw honey, and even included aprons for us. It was one of the best day dates my husband and I have ever been on. Luckily we were prepared for the unpredictable Utah autumn weather with warm clothes and boots, but Mike also set us up with a campfire and canopy, and the sun did peek out over the hills to illuminate all of the beautiful fall colors. If you get a chance to go on a Wild Utah Edible tour, don’t hesitate, as it’s an incredible value for the money spent, and you won’t be disappointed.

My husband and I joined Mike for a class a few years back. Mike identified all kinds of edible and medicinal plants on the tour, including elderberry. We thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. Mike is a great teacher! We learned sooooooo much! We have since moved to Vegas but hope for the day we can join again for whatever kind of tour he has going. Thank you Mike 🙂
