Description

Indian paintbrush is one of those bitter flowers. I have tasted it when it was bright red and it was actually kind of sweet but just a little later in the season it was quite bitter. It is one that ages quickly in the desert and needs good ground and water to be palatable. It is an option as a survival food however and good to know about in a dire situation. I have read that it should not be eaten in large quantities but then I cannot imagine eating this in quantity.
